About

Paul Elrich

I am a software engineer living in Arroyo Grande, CA. I work on business analytics and ecommerce software for niche retail industries.

I have too many animals in my home (at the insistence of my wife), including but not limited to:

  • (1) Dog
  • (2) Cats
  • (7) Chickens
  • (2) Turtles
  • (2) Koi

I prefer tea over coffee, black beers over IPA's, Metroidvanias over RPG's, and fun socks over just about any other fashion choice. In my free time I have been developing a video game for the past 3 years.

Illustrations

"doodling" doesn't have the same ring to it.

I've been drawing my whole life. In school, I probably never made it through a single class without doodling something.

If my house caught fire right now, the first thing I woud grab (after my wife of course) would be my sketchbooks. Then my hard drives. I should really back all my drawings up.

Software

"It's a unix system, I know this!"

I've been working in software development for 6 years. I was originally a freelance graphic designer working with startups to get myself through college. That skillset slowly moved into web design and on to web development, which eventually landed me firmy in software development. I currently work with Blazor, a newish WebAssembly framework that's built on .Net.

"Pismo" Site Builder

Site Building Dashboard

A UI lovingly named after the town it was made in, Pismo was built as a lightweight option for churches to build their own website.

Once built, they can add their Sunday message audio files and upcoming events to their site. Contact me if you would like to be given a demo of the software.

L3 Prayer Map

"Social" Web App

A fun little interface requested by a client. Submissions are queued up for approval, after which they are added to the wall, where they can be "amened" (liked) by users.

Church Messages and Smart Events

Plugin for User Created Content

A plugin built to allow churches to create events and post their Sunday Message Video and Audio to their site. Currently live on dozens of church sites.

Built in PHP from the ground up, uploaded content supports repeating events, attached files, and auto deletion. Sermons automatically update an RSS feed for church podcasts.

Pastoral Coaching and Church Growth

An e-commerce site with a fun tech-y feel. Wanted motion throughout the site, and wanted to give a lot of information without seeming too cluttered.
